Flowing Upstream

The Pisces new moon on Sunday, during a Mercury retrograde, is probably the most emotional and watery moon of the year, because it illuminates more acutely our inner fears and negative beliefs that we keep hidden and suppressed.

It may feel as if we are fighting against the current, especially if we are feeling trapped in a relationship or a job, stuck in a rut, not reaching our full potential, or facing the consequences of decisions we have made that did not really honour us, or support our visions and goals.

It is important to allow what is hidden in our unconscious to bubble to the surface so we can deal with them. If you are finding life a struggle at the moment, the key to surfing this emotional energetic wave is to feel grateful for all the blessings in your life.

This takes effort, as we are hard-wired to only see danger and negativity, but if we don't have a balanced perspective, or tools to deal with the inner critic, trauma or self-hatred, this moon cycle can get very dark and stormy.

Surround yourself with loved ones and good friends, and don’t be surprised if you also find yourself having a good sob during the next two weeks. Crying recalibrates our bodies and can make us feel more balanced and calm, especially if we have been under immense stress and pressure.

Pisces is represented by two fishes swimming in opposite directions, symbolising the tensions of our heads and hearts pulling in different directions.

However, the heart speaks loudest and clearest during a Pisces new moon so instead of being Life's victim, use this new moon energy to get clear on what your heart desires - what do you really want?

Focus and imagine that reality coming true (without doubt), and then remain open, trusting  and responsive to your intuition, which is guiding you to the right circumstances in order to manifest it. This means allowing your passion, and not your rationality, guide you.

Pisces is also the moon of reflection and contemplation that can, like water, help us to dissolve and disintegrate any obstacles in order to live our dreams. so we may find things coming to an end if they are no longer serving us.

This is the final moon of the western Zodiac and reminds us that everything is in our lives for a season, a reason or a lifetime. When something is in our life for a reason, it's usually to meet a deep need.

Some things come into our lives for a season, and brings us the opportunity to share, grow and learn. Things that remain with us for a lifetime are there to help us develop a solid emotional foundation. When we can accept something has reached its natural end, it is easier to let it go.

Use this Piscean new moon wisely, to find some way of serving others, end things that are not serving you, set clear intentions for the new season, and make the necessary preparations over the next few weeks so that you can spring into spring next month with clear direction and focus.
