Finding Your Purpose
Week Commencing 27th February
This week the Weekly Shamanic Guidance is Self – Awareness:
The Shamanic Guidance this week is Self-Awareness to help you stabilise your boat, and inspire you to find your Passion and Purpose after the wobbly few days under the Pisces New Moon and Solar Eclipse….
The two most fundamental questions that humans have been asking for millennia are: Who am I? and Why am I here?
I know some of you are thinking that you don’t know what your passion or purpose is, and it has eluded you for years. Many of us buried our passions to follow the expectations of parents, religion, or society. We took the safe and easy path; a steady job, regular income, and stability, hiding our true selves to get on with the task of living. But passion is constantly burning deep inside, yearning to be realised.
Your passion is what fuels your creativity, your enjoyment and your fun. It is unique to you. It’s what fires you up and gets you out of bed. It’s that sensation in the pit of your stomach that you feel every time you do something that goes against your passion, and who you really are.
We have been conditioned to believe that the more stuff we have, the more money we have, the more beautiful we look, the more houses, cars, boats, planes we have, we will eventually feel inner happiness. We have bought into this belief, and by doing so, buried our creativity and joy. But no matter what we do, material things can never satiate the passion of our true desires.
The only way to find true happiness is to find out who you are, and then start living your passion. But this takes courage, and acceptance. The more we love ourselves, the stronger our self-awareness becomes. We take personal responsibility for the choices we have made, and no longer blame others for the situation we are in. This enables us to release any shame and guilt for following our own path and being who we are, even if it means upsetting the expectations of others.
We all have something special to give because we are all equally connected to this great web of life. It doesn’t matter who you are, what your life is like, how beautiful you are, how much money you can make, or what country you were born in. We all have unique gifts, skills and talents that the world needs to help maintain and preserve it for future generations.
When we understand that we are all part of this unfolding planetary story, we realise how powerful we really are. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe reminded us that, “Man is not born to solve the problems of the universe, but to find out what he has to do… within the limits of his comprehension.”
It’s going to take each one of us, every human being on the planet, to change the way we interact with the world, in order to change the destructive trajectory we are on. Only collectively, as one connected species, with each one of us living our passion, serving each other, and fulfilling our purpose, can we live on a healthy, vibrant planet. When we become self-aware, we understand how vital and important we are, and the power each one of us has to create change.
In order to really understand where we are going to we have to know where we are coming from. Who is it that is in your head telling you who you are? Our inner critic is not real, it is a mind illusion. Someone else told us things about ourselves, and we not only listened, but accepted it as truth and adopted this belief about us.
You know you are NOT these voices, there is so much more to you. For whatever reasons, you allowed another person to manipulate you, and began to doubt your own true power and potential.
This exercise can help you separate the illusion of who we think we are, from who we really are, and help to find the self-awareness to live your truth.
Sit down cross-legged on a pillow. Close your eyes and bring your awareness back into your body. Breathe in love and compassion for yourself, and breathe out any stress and anxiety until you feel relaxed and peaceful.
Once you feel calm and clear ask yourself the questions below, on a scale from 1-10 the effect it has on your well-being (0 being very little – 10 being alot). Sit with the criticism, without judgement and in the silence, hear if it’s coming from a male or female voice, and if there is one specific person who you can attach this criticism to. Once you can see it on paper, you can let go of these voices that are no longer serving you, and stand in your own self-awareness.
