Scorpio New Moon – Sunday 30th October
The Aries Full Moon enabled us to face life full on with renewed vigour, energy and spirit. It reminded us that we have everything we need within us and that we are able to cope with everything that is happening in our lives. It illuminated our challenges and asked us to dig deep within, and find our inner resources and personal empowerment.
Now we are perfectly prepared for the emotional, watery Scorpio Moon, that will illuminate our deepest fears and our greatest dreams. It will show us our inner resistances and behaviour patterns that stop us moving forward and yet, tantalisingly give us a taste of what we can achieve.
Scorpio illuminates the social conditioning, self-doubt, negative beliefs, and patterns of behaviours that keep us locked in misery and pain and prevent us from being empowered. It shows us why we are unhappy so that we can take personal responsibility and make the changes necessary.
This moon allows us to start a new cycle with energy and hope. If you are ready for personal transformation and healing – now is the time to go for it. Some will experience terror and pain as the old paradigm collapses – others will experience rapture and metamorphosis. It all depends on our perspective and we have been given ample guidance and support from the moon and planets to prepare us for this.
Here are my 7 top tips to successfully surfing this Scorpio New Moon wave!
This is moon of intimacy and personal transformation, as Scorpio helps us find self-mastery and self-control by intensifying our emotions and fears. When we surrender to whatever is coming up we can unlock our hearts, be vulnerable and accept our deepest feelings. This might be uncomfortable, as we face our inner truths and become aware of the areas that need to change and transform. However, if you choose to break through the fear and allow yourself to love your vulnerability, your greatest weakness can become your greatest strength.
Accept and Surrender
Under the influence of Pluto and Mars (the planets of war and personal transformation), suppressed feelings are illuminated, and we are faced with the truth of our past decisions and choices. It can bring to the surface hidden regrets, guilt, anger and frustrations that have been buried deep within. Use this Scorpio new moon to recognise and let go of any old emotional destructive habits and behaviour patterns. Your ability to let go of the past and embrace the future. as a co-creator and with positivity, will transform your perspective from victim to being empowered. The more of us who can stay harmonious, calm and in full trust while the chaos swirls around us, will help harness the energy of hope and inspiration.
Reflect and Integrate
Use this Scorpio moon to revise and reflect on any major projects or relationships. See through your own illusions or projections to determine what’s really going on, and what needs to change. Sometimes it only takes a minor tweak to break the log jam and allow things to flow more easily towards your goals – at other times a complete re-evaluation is required. Face these changes, however large or small with determination and courage, using your innate self belief to over-ride any habitual self doubt.
Take a good long look in the mirror. Look really deep into your eyes – the gateway to your soul. What do you see? What is your heart saying? Go beyond the ego and search for your truth. What’s really going on in there? Be brave enough to see. When we can access these deeper aspects of ourselves we are closer to understanding who we really are. This is a deeply intimate and transformational exercise that washes away the grime of living in fear of ourselves, and helps us face ourselves more honestly.
Which Dog will you Feed?
In a movie I once saw, the shaman said ‘Two dogs are fighting within you, one is good, one evil, which one will win?’ The answer was; ‘Whichever one I feed the most.’ We are all faced with this struggle between the selfishness of ego vs service to the collective. When we acknowledge this struggle is always within us, we can become empowered to realise that when we serve the collective we are really just serving ourselves. It is a choice we are all making all the time with our actions, but when we feed the dog of service and harmony, we immediately feel happier, more peaceful and content.
Don’t be surprised if you have a passionate, wild, magical connection with someone or reignite the passion with your lover over this moon. Scorpio represents passion, love and desire so allow yourself to enjoy the intimacy and connection with another!! Don’t be afraid of expressing yourself sexually and asking for what you want. The last few moon cycles have enabled us to become more of who we are, and now is the time to start really expressing it in your day to day life.
Follow your Intuition
To help us through this emotional moon our intuition is amplified so we can hear our inner wisdom. The more you trust your intuition to guide you, the stronger it will become. If you are getting a feel to call someone ,do something, or go somewhere, follow the inner guidance without questioning the rationality. Often the solution is right under our noses, we just need to let go of working it out in our minds and let the answers come intuitively.
The intuition is not a ‘voice,’ as all voices we hear are coming from our minds, our conditioning, society and inner critic. It is a feeling that energises and flows around the body and moves us in a clear direction. In order to feel this energy we must be in silence, where our rational thoughts are no longer controlling our headspace and we can access this inner energy. From this space of silence, of deep peace, a knowing arises that resonates at the deepest level. This is our connection to Life, to existence, this is our intuition.
I will end this Lunascope with the wise words from Alexander Solzhenitsyn:
“If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”
