Sagittarius New Moon – 11th Dec

lighteningThe fiery Sagittarius new moon – 11 Dec is igniting our inner spark of adventure, and need for change. As we reach the zenith of the longest night and shortest day, become aware of signs and messages that are showing you the next step. We are heading into the depths of darkness, but the shift is coming and soon the light will start getting brighter again.

This is the moon to take a leap of faith, and follow your heart; the inner voice that is always prompting us to do something, usually beyond our comfort zone. The Sagittarius moon fires us up and gives us the confidence to break through the fear and follow our dreams.

Here are my Seven Top Tips to fearlessly surf this Sagittarius New Moon:

Leap of Faith
The Sagittarius new moon helps us to aim higher and further by giving us the feeling that there is more to life than the one we are experiencing, and urges us to follow our passion. Everything is in forward motion, so utilise the energy of the moon and the planets to blast off from the ordinary, mundane, routine-led life, expanding your horizons and exploring hidden dimensions within you.

Think big, take chances, and use this positive, enthusiastic and generous energy to take you closer to your dreams. Life is too short to be worrying about the ‘what if’s.’ Over the next few weeks it will get harder to ignore your intuition, so take the leap of faith into a new beginning this new moon.

Letting Go of ‘Dead Wood’
This year has been one of change and transformation. When we move forward we can leave people behind. A new moon is a good time to let go of those friends and relationships that drag us down and suck our energy. When we shift our energy we can see our companions more clearly, those that support us, and those that don’t see us in a new light.

It is always difficult to let go of friends that we have known for years but if they can’t see our transformation, they can keep us stuck in the past. When we let go of relationships that don’t really see who we are, we create space for new people to come into our lives that can relate to us, as we are now.

People are in our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Use the Sagittarius moon to decide which friends are serving you and which ties need to be severed, so you can move forward with more emotional support and encouragement.

Stay Disciplined
You may find your mind jumping all over the place during a Sagittarius new moon, as the grass can often look greener, so its difficult making a decision. Beware of excess and blind optimism, the urge to be more spontaneous and free can also lead to a tendency to overdo things and become overindulgent, especially during this Christmas period. Focus your energy on what needs to be done, take appropriate action, and patiently go step by step towards your goals, you will feel much better for it.

Widen Your Perspective
This Sagittarius moon urges us to get in touch with the outer quest for truth. It pulls the veils of illusion aside, allowing us to see what’s really going on beyond the conditioned facts fed to us by religion, academia, the media and history. This is a time to expand our minds and seek a deeper truth. Follow your desire to learn more. The more you understand about yourself and life, the more you can stand in your power.

Time to Trust
This moon also heightens our wisdom and intuition. It helps us hear our inner voice and make the right choices. It can also be very prophetic and the bigger picture may become clearer, or the need to make changes in your life more obvious. Sometimes we can be scared of our own foresight and power, but Sagittarius helps us to trust ourselves and our judgement more. The more we listen to our inner wisdom and knowing, the more effortlessly our lives can flow.

When we live life as an adventure we free our minds from the fear that creates barriers and restricts us. Put out the intention for a positive, enlightening adventure, then trust that you will make the right choices to experience it. Trust the all-knowing wisdom of your higher self who sees everything from the perspective of the eagle, and accept the path you have taken.

The most important thing is to enjoy the journey in every moment; regardless of whether things are happening the way you wanted them too or not. When we let go and leap into the unknown, we are able to experience the Universal magic. If you don’t like where you are, use the new moon ritual below to intention a new reality.

Aiming your Arrow
Sagittarius is symbolized as the Centaur, a combination of animal and human. For many this is interpreted as a desire to free ourselves from our ‘animal nature.’ I see it differently. I believe the Centaur represents the integration of our animal and human natures. We are just another species of animal walking this planet, a part of nature. Animals operate on instinct alone and the Centaur reminds us to be aware of, and act on our instinctive/intuitive nature.

The body of the horse represents power, reflecting the power we possess to physically manifest our dreams in the physical realm. The archer’s bow and arrow is faced heaven ward, aiming for the stars. Find the faith of the archer and trust that if you shoot towards the stars you may actually reach them. Sagittarius’ message is to trust our instinctive/intuitive nature and realize our true power.

Explore New Horizons
The fiery Sagittarius moon is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth and imbuing us with confidence and a sense of adventure. Use the new moon to start something new. Adult education starts a new term in the new year, so follow your passion and book a class, begin a hobby, learn a language, or explore a new skill. This is also an auspicious time for travelling abroad, making foreign connections and meeting people.

I will end this Lunascope with the wise words from Mark Twain:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover..”
