About Me
A Little Bit About My Journey
I get many emails from all over the world from people who have been touched by my journey, and who have shared their stories with me. The more sharing of stories the more I have realised how interconnected everything is. The more we live in the natural flow, the more magic and harmony we can see.
During my time in the Amazon I began to recognise the importance of nature’s cycle in our own lives. Mother Earth is full of signs and symbols that point the way on our path through life. The more we follow the natural flow and the greater the connection with the natural world, the more harmonious our lives become. This symbiotic relationship with the earth has been lived by our indigenous communities since time began.
In the West this ancient knowledge was almost wiped out with the Great European witch hunts of the 15th Century. Many innocent herbalists, midwives and medicine healers were killed by the Christian Crusades but their pagan calendar still exists. When I left my job at the World Travel & Tourism Council I gradually found myself resonating more with the ancient 13-moon calendar of the celtic/pagan people and other indigenous cultures.
I started to follow the cycles of the moon, her position in the sky and whether she was full or new, waxing or waning. It is well documented that the human body is made up of 70%+ water, as well as having a very subtle energy/magnetic body. Just as the moon has a significant effect on the tides and the oceans, she also plays a significant part in the flow of our lives.
The more I follow these natural moon cycles the more I see how they affect me in my daily life. I am able to live more harmoniously and have become more aware of my part in the great web of life. We are a part of nature, not apart from nature – the moon and seasons have a direct effect on the human cycle. As well as following the phases of the moon, the Celtics celebrated the cyclic flow of nature by dividing the year into eight festivals. These festivals are a time to honour and give gratitude to Mother Earth through song, dance, community and ceremony.
Western lifestyle, dominated by a man-made calendar, has kept us ignorant to this understanding and many of us have forgotten our direct connection with the source. This has created a stressful environment and has blocked our Shamanic flow. The more we tune into the natural world around us, the more we can start living in conscious intent and the more our lives will start making sense.
When we become consciously connected we begin to see how we can participate more directly and fully in the process of life. Instead of being a victim of circumstance we can use the cycles of the moon, seasonal changes, the four cross-quarter festivals, Equinoxes and the Solstices to work for us so that we can achieve our greatest dreams and become powerful human beings.
