The Capricorn new moon, symbolised by the mountain goat, reminds us not to give up, but to find the inner strength and fortitude to keep on keeping on. The new year is just around the corner and everything is in flux and flow. What might look like a huge burden now, could be turning into a great blessing if you hold on strong.
Find some silent time to set your intentions for 2017 and vision what you want to manifest for the coming year. The clearer you are about the path you are walking the easier it is to navigate the opportunities that will come your way. Life wants us to thrive, but when we keep fighting reality instead of trusting that it is all happening perfectly, we feel life is against us, rather than helping us. When we start flowing with the cycles of life, just as the goat trusts that the mountain will hold it, we feel supported and nurtured.
Here are my 7 top tips to successfully surfing this Capricorn New Moon wave!
With Mercury, the Planet of communication and technology in retrograde, everything will seem to slow down so try and recognise the mountain from the molehills and not blow things out of proportion. This is the time to take your foot off the gas peddle and do some re-evaluating, revision, and reviewing of the past year, so you can learn from your mistakes, make sure you are still on the right path, and properly prepared for when Mercury goes forward on 8th January. If things are not going as you wanted or expected, find a way to flow the way the river is flowing. Don’t take things personally, especially as tempers can raise over this new moon and we may not have the spare capacity to deal with the quirkiness of others.
Keep on Keeping On
Capricorn is symbolized by a Mountain Goat, stubbornly undeterred by even the highest and steepest terrain. Magically, it finds footholds in the most unlikely places, eventually reaching the top of the mountain. The message from the Mountain Goat is: ‘keep on keeping on,’ despite adversity, obstacles, the ever up hill struggle and the never-ending challenges. When we remain clear in our intentions and focused on the present moment, life becomes more about the journey than the destination. When we focus on the journey we have a lot more fun, life becomes more magical and we see a change the world.
Ask for Help
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn so this can often be a challenging moon that illuminates where we are limiting ourselves by our belief systems, negative thoughts and allowing our inner critic to work overtime. Be careful not to bury your emotions and pretend everything is fine during this moon. Sometimes under a Capricorn moon we can hide how we are truly feeling, which just generates and exacerbates more of the same emotions that are dragging us down. Instead, use the feminine moon energy to allow yourself to be vulnerable and ask for help if you need it. The more open we can be with how we are truly feeling the more support and love we realise we have around us.
Accept your Limitations
Allow the energy of this moon to inspire you out of any sluggishness or despondency you may be feeling by getting you into the party mood. If you are unsure of what you want to create, what you need to do, what’s the best direction to go in, or how to change your life, stop trying to work it out. let go of needing to know and enjoy the Christmas season. Breath through any frustration or energetic barriers that you feel are stopping you from moving forward. Take a leaf out of nature’s book and be patient. Everything is in flux and change so let life guide you forward.
Capricorn helps us to realise what we really want to achieve for ourselves and can refocus our priorities and values. You may find that your spending tastes are changing and you are becoming more conscious on where you shop and what you are eating. You may also be feeling a deeper connection to Nature and food in general and feel a heightened sense of awareness. This is all normal, as many of us are waking up from the separation and realising that we are all one and our actions are having a huge impact on every living thing. Under this moon we can realise that when we serve the greater good, we are actually serving ourselves and moving into a more heart-centred space.
