Hello Fellow Seekers on the Path of Unknown
Forget the fear and terror that is in the news today and instead turn your attention to what is happening in nature.
Today is Beltane - the Spring Cross-Quarter Festival and officially the first day of Summer and what a beautiful day it is…
Beltane celebrates the beginning of the summer season, the fertility of Mother Earth and honouring our POTENCY as humans. Fires were lit all over the countryside and couples would make love all night representing the Horned God and the Fertile Goddess and symbolizes shared knowledge and power, releasing an outpouring of fertile energy into the universe. The ritual was to ensure the fertility of the land and spring-planted crops.
People dressed in green to honour nature and even today in Hastings and other towns the Green Man is celebrated with music, merry-making and Morris Dancing. Beltane is the best time of year to connect with the faery kingdom, elementals and nature spirits, as the veil that separates our world from theirs becomes very thin.
Traditionally, Hawthorne trees were decorated with ribbons tied on their branches and doors, and people danced around the maypole wrapping two ribbons around it signifying the unification of female and male energies.
This festival comes at an auspicious time when the media is ramping up the fear. Take the time out today to make love, hug, tell someone you love them, and recognise all the wonderful things that are in your life. This is a time to celebrate our potency and creativity. Use the next week as the moon waxes to full in Scorpio, to really get things moving in your life. Go out in the sun and shake off the despondancy and sluggishness and use the vibrant energy of Beltane to inspire and motivate you.
A shift in perspective can change the way we view the world - and just as there is darkness there is always the same amount of light. Focus on what is lighting up your world and what you can do to increase it in your life…
Happy Beltane
Love and Blessings
