My Mission

My Mission is to help spread the importance of Plant ‘Consciousness’ for our future survival, and assist those in the urban jungles to live more shamanically, reconnecting them back to the plants, nature and the natural cycles and rhythms of life. I do this by holding traditional shamanic plant medicine ceremonies to remind us that we are a part of Nature.

About me

My practice is firmly based in the real world. I have travelled and studied all round the world and have been inspired by many different religions and ancient beliefs.

I have been exploring consciousness since a failed suicide attempt at thirteen, when I just got so depressed at being on this planet I decided suicide was the only way out. I couldn’t bear to live another 70 years in this dark, angry and fearful place. I had a near death experience and my mother came to me while I was walking along the tunnel. She told me that suicide is not the way out. That I could not escape and that I’d made a contract to stay and help people on this planet. If I left I would make a big hole in the web of life. We are all interconnected and if one of us goes before our time the whole eco-system is affected, and I would have to repay that Karma to all those people who I had made a promise to.

The only way to come out of this misery was to find a way of being happy, despite what I had been taught to believe. And so I began the long road to come out of my depression and find happiness. I looked behind my mother and I saw 1000’s of people behind her, and I suddenly saw how many people we can touch in this lifetime, how connected we really are, and our villages of the past is now the global village of today.

My seeking path ended in 1998. I was called in a vision by a traditional Ayahuasquero Shaman, while working in a hotel in Machu Picchu, and found my teacher nestled in a village deep in the Peruvian Amazon. I worked deeply and intensely with plant medicines and apprenticed with Ayahuasca. I was given a seed of something profound but the instructions from the Shaman were that I had to return back to England, that I was a westerner and my destiny was in the west. My time in the Amazon was completed and the next stage of the journey in the urban jungle of London was only just beginning…

Practically, I have a BA (Hons) in Study of Religions, and MSc in Development Economics, both from SOAS University. I have been a Vipassana meditator for over 22 years and I have a Post-graduate Psychology Diploma in the Human Givens Approach. I am also the author of the self-published book ‘The Shaman’s Last Apprentice.’

From 2005-2010, I was founder and director of Hemp Global Solutions Ltd, growing hemp research crops in the UK and educating on the importance of this crop for medicine, nutrition, fuel and shelter, and am now a Consultant for Hempen, a UK Hemp cooperative, where we organically grow, and process our own hemp seed and fibre.

I run regular Shamanic residential and Plant Medicine retreats, Cacao ceremonies and workshops around the world.

I also have a private practice to assist those who are needing help and support in releasing destructive, negative and disempowering patterns of behaviour and ancestral conditionings.
